Australian International School Hong Kong

Based in Hong Kong, the AISHK required an intrinsically Australian looking uniform for early childhood to Year 12 students in a warm climate. The Australian identity of the school was further enhanced by a stylish JW Collective academic uniform which embraced a green and gold colour palette and catered to a broad cross section of nationalities, backgrounds and figure types.

 

Wesley College Melbourne

 

Wesley is one of Melbourne’s most prestigious co-educational schools, spanning 3 campuses, with over 3000 students from early childhood to Year 12. JW Collective was commissioned to design an all-inclusive academic and sporting, age-appropriate uniform which coincided with the school’s Sesquicentenary.

JW Collective produced versatile, pioneering and comprehensive designs with contemporary cuts and fabrics which were inspired by research into the school’s rich archives and the renowned purple and gold colour palette.

 

Loreto Kirribilli Sydney

Loreto Kirribilli is an all girls private school in Sydney which required a complete uniform review for Kindergarten to Year 12 for academic and sporting purposes. JW Collective worked closely with the management of the school in developing a cohesive and modern uniform for both Summer and Winter seasons that was applauded as timeless, classic and feminine. The royal blue uniform was 100% made in Australia which was an important requirement for the management group.

 

St Andrews Cathedral School Sydney

St Andrews Cathedral School is an independent, Anglican, co-educational day school. For over 130 years, St Andrew’s Cathedral School has guided students to develop academic excellence,  a passion for learning and a degree of higher order thinking that goes beyond the curriculum, in an environment that is uniquely shaped by their city location which is conveniently located adjacent to the magnificent buildings of the Sydney Town Hall and St Andrew’s Cathedral. Jonathan Ward was commissioned in 1998 as well as 2007 and 2009 to redesign the boys and girls senior uniform as well as the girls primary and middle school Summer and Winter uniform.

 

 

 

Mentone Grammar School Melbourne

Mentone Grammar is an independent, Anglican co-educational grammar school in Mentone, a suburb of Melbourne. Mentone Grammar’s mission is to provide its students with a contemporary learning environment in which well-resourced and committed staff lead engaging academic, pastoral and co-curricular programs. Classes are coeducational from ELC – Year 4 and from Years 10 – 12, with students learning in single-gender classes through Years 5 – 9. Jonathan Ward was commissioned in 2005 to redesign the girls Summer and Winter academic uniform as well as the girls and boys P.E and some sports uniforms.

 

Kincoppal School Rosebay Sydney

Kincoppal-Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart is a leading Catholic independent school that is part of the international network of Sacred Heart schools. Located in Rose Bay in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, the School caters for boys (ELC-6) and girls day (ELC-12) and boarding (Years 7-12). With more than 135 years of educating hearts and minds, Kincoppal Rose Bay prepares its students for lives of courage and confidence, educating them to discover their purpose; cultivate their talents and passions; and commit themselves to service as global citizens of the world. Jonathan Ward was commissioned in 2010 to review and redesign the academic uniform for senior and secondary girls as well as the junior school uniform for kindergarten to year 4 students.

 

 

Wesley College Perth

Wesley College is a Perth school home to approximately 1,300 students from pre-kindergarten to Year 12, including 160 boarders. The College is co-educational up to Year 6 then boys-only to Year 12, with a unique structure incorporating a middle school for the adolescent years. Although considered an elite private school, Wesley remains true to its founding egalitarian principles. The College’s iconic campus is in a stunning location on the banks of the Swan River, overlooking the City of Perth.

Jonathan Ward was commissioned to redesign the Summer and Winter academic uniform for girls and boys for the Middle School  Years 5-8 and Senior School Years 9-12 as well as the Junior school uniform for girls and co-educational clothing development for pre-Kindergarten to Year 4.

 

 

 

Lowther Hall Grammar School Melbourne

Lowther Hall has a reputation for providing a well-rounded education for girls in an intimate environment of 800 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The school is a diverse, open-entry school where students are known and well catered for from their very first day. The school prides itself on offering academic programs which support and challenge each student to achieve her best, and the school seeks to assist girls to understand a wide range of academic disciplines and co-curricular pursuits. In 2017 Jonathan Ward was asked to develop a new design for the academic uniform & accessories for Kindergarten to Year 12 students.

Barker College Hornsby Sydney

Barker College is a coeducational Independent Anglican, day and boarding school, located in Hornsby, a North Shore suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Barker College has been located on its current site since 1895 and successive generations of leaders and families have contributed to the beautiful campus we see today. Naturally the educational landscape has changed immeasurably within that time and as such development work and refurbishment of key spaces are a key part of Barker’s Master Plan in order to provide the best facilities for the students. The school dreams of contributing to a sense of hope, of confidence and capacity for young learners. The school are thinking of the students of Barker today, whilst building with the future in mind.

The current girls’ uniform was designed by Jonathan Ward and was unveiled in 2000 with the arrival of girls in Year 10. The uniform consisted of a navy, red and white striped dress complete with a navy blazer for Summer and a navy A-line skirt, white blouse, Senior School tie and striped blazer for Winter. Optional extras included a red cardigan, striped waistcoat and navy scarf. Jonathan Ward was commissioned again in 2017 by Head Master Phillip Heath to relook at the boys academic uniform and update and design for girls with the announcement of school going co educational.

 

Guildford Grammar School Perth

Guildford Grammar School is inspiring students to achieve personal excellence and to be outstanding citizens who work to create a just, loving and peaceful society. The School Council and Strategic Leadership Team had conducted an in depth research project to evaluate evidence that indicates that a single sex environment provides students with a better opportunity to achieve their personal excellence.  This research (completed in early 2016) found  the evidence to available to be inconclusive and when balanced with changes in society and an increased focus on preparing students to be job ready and develop lifelong skills. The school leadership decided that it was ready to invest in further work exploring a change to a coeducational environment in the Senior School. Introducing Co-education into the Senior School was a complex process and Jonathan Ward was commissioned to  redesign an appropriate uniform for girls and young women in the Senior School.

Canberra Grammar School

Jonathan Ward was asked to design a new Senior School female uniform, Summer, Winter and Sports and to review, simplify, and rework the Male Senior and Male & Female Junior uniforms.
